I'm feeling irritatingly musical tonight.

This video (fanmade) has so. many. things. that I support/love/have strong opinions about in it. How did I just find it now? "Space Monkey" is in my top 3 Placebo songs and has a special significance for me the same way the movie "Lost in Translation" does.

Also I just love this song. I'm loading both "Battle for the Sun" and "Meds" albums onto the Crackberry in full - I had selected songs prior - to listen to while I clean.

His:
Since having met you, I have tried very hard to better myself. You compliment me in every way. I'm so fortunate to have found someone who can support me, or rather tolerate me and my shenanigans. I do not know what I would have done if I was marrying a girl who did not understand the significance of up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, B, A, start or would think that <3 was a math problem.

Mine:
When we first met, I didn't know your name and referred to you as "annoying boy". Not much has changed. I'm not going to say a bunch of mushy stuff and promises that nobody could keep. What I want to say is that I love you very much. You are supportive, goofy, intelligent and generally awesome. I'm sorry it took me so long to be okay with the idea of getting married. Thanks for being so patient.

Because I was asked and we all know I hate having to answer the same question eleventy times, here is "what we can use" - that's a pretty broad term, so I broke it down into the top three categories.

In no particular order:

So I have a wonderful lady on Etsy who is making me a jacket to go with my dress. I can't decide on a fabric so I'm hoping some of you wonderful folks will help me out. Or something like that :)

The jacket will be a cropped military style similar to this but the collar will be closer together, the closure (where the buttons are) will be hidden and moved over a little bit so it is more off-center and it will end between where the first two buttons are.

This is my fun little image I slapped together of fabric swatches both the lady making the jacket and I found.

Today is just not shaping up to be a very good day. I don't feel well, I don't look good... meh meh meh :\ I'm going to take a quick nap and then clean the house. For whatever reason, cleaning always seems to put my mind right.

Oddly enough right after I signed up for the new My Ad thingy that LJ is offering, YouTube emailed me wanting to do basically the same thing. One of my videos has over 100k hits soooooo yeah, totally did that.

If anyone else is doing the ads thing, let me know. I've opted in to see them and I'll make a tab group in Firefox to open your journal directly so you get credit for me reading :)

As most of you guys who follow my twitter know, I had two of my wisdom teeth removed today. The actual setup was really nice - they hooked me up to a monitor for my heart, put this weird thingy on my neck so they could monitor my breathing, put Vaseline on my lips so they wouldn't crack and stuck the IV in my hand. I remember my hand hurting when they started the IV but they had me breathing laughing gas so it didn't really feel odd. I remember waking up and hearing one of the dental assistants talking about her dog chasing squirrels and wanted to tell her about Kamy, but the gauze in my mouth prevented me. She took some of the tape off minus the one that held the gauze over the IV site and put lotion on my arms. I thought that was very kind :) They had me lay in the recovery room and K came back to sit with me. The oral surgeon came back and said that he knew it would be difficult and they did not disappoint. I have to set up an appointment to get checked on in a week or so.

We went to CVS to drop off my prescriptions and when K mentioned that I'd just had my wisdom teeth out, they said they'd get them ASAP. So now I have these big horse pill antibiotics to take 3x a day (~7 days) and a bunch of Oxycodone to take every 4 hours or as needed. The dental assistant who basically debriefed me said to take Tylenol and have it nearby to take as the pain meds wear off.

I've changed the gauze out twice now. Right now I just have some on the right side of my mouth because that hurts like a motherfucker. My jaw is still numb from the Novocaine but of course, not in that area. I am not that puffy yet and my mind is pretty clear. I am a little on the tired side but I napped with K and MC (until K started snoring) for about an hour.

I tried to eat some Jell-O pudding with my pills and could barely swallow. I'm thinking eating and I are not going to be very good friends for a few days.

So that's that. I'll update the wedding filter with the pertinent TX trip details in a little bit. I think I'm going to download the new BFG game that [info]kheldar633 told me about and use it as a means of distraction :)

Futurama is coming back!!
"Animated comedy Futurama is to return to US TV screens with 26 new episodes - seven years after it was axed by Fox.

They will air in 2010 on cable network Comedy Central, which shows repeats and previously commissioned four specials. "

I'm now using the Futurama mood theme by [info]susako If you'd like to use them, please click here to read more about it. She took me up on my offer to host them too so I'm using the home server to do that - the link should be updated when she gets a chance to do so :)

My kitty is on steroids :) He is in a ball on my ShaggyBag (bean bag-esque thingy) and purring loudly. I love my little dude and I'm glad he's pulling through. What a strong Mr. Man!

Paka update

The vet got the test results back.

It's not cancer.

It's FIP - a mutation of the feline corona virus which is something that he was tested and IIRC vaccinated for. Guess what the vaccination can do? CAUSE IT. Nice.

There's a lot of misinformation on the web but this is what I've gotten so far

-80% mortality rate in older cats. Vet is more positive in Paka's case because he's had it so long and is recovering from it already.
-It's pretty much just palliative care - steroids and antibiotics. When we visit on Tuesday, I'm going to ask about doing it subQ because that cat hates pills.
-The other cats can't get it from him, which I am REALLY relieved about. Vet thinks he could have had it since he was a little Paka before we got him and it just was dormant.

So that's that. Hopefully he recovers, but he may not. That was the same case with the cancer, but I am relieved to know what it is.

I know I haven't been great at replying because pretty much any time I do, I start bawling. Tomorrow, I should be able to at least go visit Paka. I had to force myself to eat just a little bit today. I felt sick but I can't make myself worse when I have a potentially sick kitty to take care of soon.

K and I discussed it and if it is very aggressive, we aren't going to be selfish and make him suffer. I would like him to be home for at least a few days if that is the case, just to say goodbye.

I knew this day would come eventually but he is so damn young. It just doesn't seem fair.

Regarding wedding stuff, that's pretty much all on hold as we were financing it ourselves and our priority is taking care of him. There are always alternate arrangements and I'm thankful I/my vendors dragged ass on contracts because nothing is in writing just yet. It'll still be in Houston, still on the same day, but some of the plans may change. Depending on his condition, we may or may not be going on a trip afterward, or at all. That was always a big question because it would've been something we would've asked for in lieu of gifts but I don't think, if Paka is still with us, that I'd want to be away from him if he's going through treatment. K ([info]digital_refugee) made a post on his journal about what the vet has said to him if you want more medical'y info. Like I said, we aren't sure exactly what it is up but the vet seemed pretty convinced that it was some sort of cancer. I'm leaning towards lymphoma or something similar since she said it went after his lymph node first. Based on where he had a supposed mass where she thought he had the blockage, it's probably his aixillary lymph node. I never felt anything in that area but he was a little tender when he first got back from the vet, so I wasn't palpating the region and trying to piss him off.

Kamy's been following me around, licking me, cuddling with me. MC even slept by my feet and then nuzzled me when I woke up. I know they can sense that something is wrong and that I am upset and they try. Like I told K, if Paka was here now he'd be velcroed to me, not leaving my side until everything was all better. I have watched the video I took of him last night a few times now and though I do cry, it does help me not feel so bad. I may not have him with me tonight to snuggle next to me but I will have him soon.

I'm going to go back to sleep now. I just wanted you guys to know that all the comments and stuff have kept me going and I really do appreciate it. Love you guys <3

PS - if any of you play the stock market, today would be a good time to invest in Kleenex. I have a feeling that I'll be done with my half-a-box within the next day.

LMAO!

I just logged in to Netflix to watch something and the first recommendation on the second row under instant was "The Road Warrior". Now all I can think of is the most recent South Park episode and I am giggling like crazy.
